PBVは、日本で発生する可能性のある巨大地震に対する意識を高め、備えるために、東京在住・在勤外国人向けのワークショップを開催します。このワークショップは、防災教育・研修に触れる機会の少ない日本語を母語としない住民に向けて、英語とやさしい日本語で行われます。今回は、家庭でのリスクの防止・軽減方法、避難手順、家庭での備蓄品など、災害への備えの基本を学びます。

Disaster Preparedness Workshop for Foreign Residents to be Launched
Did you know that experts in Japan have warned us that the chances of a powerful earthquake striking Tokyo in the next 30 years could be as high as 70%?
Are you and your family prepared for such an event?
Peace Boat Disaster Relief (PBV) is organizing workshops for international residents in Tokyo to raise awareness and improve preparedness for the possible mega-quake in Japan. The workshops are open to the public and conducted in English and simplified Japanese (Yasashii Nihongo). During the workshop, participants will learn the basics of disaster preparedness, such as ways to prevent/mitigate risks at home, evacuation procedures and emergency stockpile.
PBV is a Tokyo-based non-profit organization specialized in disaster relief and disaster preparedness training. Since its foundation in 2011, more than 100,000 volunteers joined PBV to help disaster-affected communities in 54 areas across Japan. We have developed diverse disaster preparedness training programs based on our experiences in the field. More than 35,000 people have attended the PBV’s disaster preparedness workshops and lectures as of March 2021, and now we have added a workshop for non-Japanese speakers to our list of training programs.
