Happy Giving Tuesday!

The PBV team is in Akita to support the residents affected by the floods in July and September. Four months have passed and it’s already snowing in the area, but there are still residents in need of assistance.

Peace Boat Disaster Relief (PBV) has been carrying out emergency relief projects across Japan and abroad. During this year, the PBV launched relief projects in the following communities along with long-term projects in the areas affected by disasters in previous years.

– Hatay, Turkey (earthquakes in February)
– Ishikawa, Japan (earthquake in May)
– Fukuoka, Japan (heavy rains in July)
– Akita, Japan (floods in July and September)
– Maui, Hawaii (fires in August)
– Chiba, Japan (typhoon No.13 in September)

Taking this opportunity, we would like to thank all of our supporters and donors for their continued cooperation. Without such generous support, we wouldn’t have been able to support those in need of help.

The PBV also takes a leading role in capacity building for disaster risk reduction across Japan. More than 200 training sessions were conducted during last year alone for diverse audiences, including members of local authorities, resident groups, private companies and schools.

In Turkiye, PBV dispatched a team to Hatay in February for a damage assessment and emergency responses. We have been working with local NGOs to support the residents affected by the earthquakes.

We seek your further support to help us continue our efforts. PBV accepts donations by credit card, and money transfer as well as international platforms, including Benevity and Give2Asia.
