Emergency Fund for Typhoon Relief in the Philippines 2025
Devastating Typhoon Hits the Philippines Following Earthquake; 400,000 Displaced
Since the magnitude 6.9 earthquake that occurred off the coast of Cebu Island on September 30, 2025, PBV has been working with Philippine partner organizations to provide support to affected areas.
However, while recovery from the earthquake was still underway, Typhoon Karmagi made landfall in the central Philippines on November 4, causing floods and landslides across the Philippines due to heavy rainfall. At least 100 people have died in Cebu Province alone, and more than 400,000 people have been forced to evacuate.
The damage in Cebu Province is particularly severe, with submerged urban areas, washed-away or damaged buildings, and significant mudslides. Search and rescue operations for many missing persons are ongoing. In response to this complex and immense typhoon disaster, PBV is launching further emergency relief efforts, building on our existing earthquake support.
PBV will be working in coordination with multiple local partner organizations to assess the extent of the damage, provide water supply assistance, and distribute emergency relief supplies. In response to the earthquake in September, we have already installed water purifiers and distributed emergency supplies, and are now considering providing support for home repairs.
Furthermore, we will dispatch staff from Japan to work with local organizations to assess the situation, confirm the support system, and develop support activities tailored to the needs of the affected areas.
We Urgently Need Your Support
Your generous donations will be used to address the most pressing needs of the affected communities, including emergency relief activities, long-term recovery, home repairs, and community rebuilding. Please note that as the full extent of the damage is still being assessed, our activities may be adjusted as the situation evolves.
We sincerely ask for your warm support to help the affected people in the Philippines regain safe living conditions and smiles as quickly as possible. To contribute, please donate from here.
