New Year’s Greetings 2022

Happy New Year 2022!

Thanks to your generous support and cooperation during the past year, we have been able to carry on our support for the affected areas both in Japan and abroad even amidst the COVID-19 pandemic which has been ongoing since 2020. We would like to thank each of you from the bottom of our hearts for your thoughts and prayers for the affected areas, despite the pandemic’s impact on our lives.

March 2021 marked the 10th anniversary of the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami, as well as the 10th anniversary of the establishment of Peace Boat Disaster Relief Centre (PBV). We would like to express our gratitude to all those who have continued to support us over the decade, to those who have joined hands to support people in need and to those who have welcomed us into their communities. We are very grateful to all of you.

The year 2021 marked many weather-related disasters in Japan and abroad, including the landslide in Atami city in July, heavy rains in Kyushu in August, the tornadoes in the US and the typhoons in the Philippines in December. The impact of climate change is gradually becoming apparent, and climate disasters are forecasted to increase in frequency and severity in the future.

This year, the PBV team will continue working with you to expand our circle of support, aiming to build a society where we can help each other beyond regional and national borders.

We seek your continued support for this year, and wish that 2022brings all of you opportunities for interaction and networking.
