Call for Donations: Emergency Relief for Communities Affected by Wildfires in Maui County, Hawai’i.
On 8th August, 2023, the first fire was confirmed in Maui Island, Hawaii. The fires spread quickly and burnt the communities for days, resulting in damaging more than 2000 buildings in western area of the island. According to the media reports, most of the burnt structures were residential.
Peace Boat Disaster Relief (PBV) launched an emergency relief fund to support the affected communities. The fund will be utilized to support the local partner organizations delivering emergency assistance to the communities, The PBV is also dispatching three members to the location on 20 August, to deliver emergency support and plan for longer relief projects.
