In Sipirok, South Tapanuli, North Sumatra Province, hot meals were provided in a community where more than 100 households have been taking shelter in tents and warehouses. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Approximately 1,000 meals per day\u2014covering breakfast, lunch, and dinner\u2014were prepared and distributed to those affected by the disaster. The cooking is carried out on a rotating basis by ASAR volunteers and local residents.<\/p>\n\n\n

<\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\nIn Batang Toru, South Tapanuli, food packages were distributed to affected households. Each household received a set of food supplies sufficient for approximately three weeks, including 20 kilograms of rice, canned goods, milk, cooking oil, and basic seasonings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The team also visited temporary shelters currently under construction, as well as communities in this area that are at continued risk of landslides. Although the government has issued evacuation orders due to the ongoing threat of further landslides, approximately 30 households remain in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n

<\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\nWe distributed hygiene kits containing soap, toothpaste, sanitary products, and other essential items to 200 households in two communities in Batang Toru, and provided daily necessities kits\u2014including blankets, mosquito nets, and bedding\u2014to 150 households. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
As our visit took place in mid-February, just before Ramadan, efforts were underway to build temporary housing and support recovery, so that affected families could spend the holy month in safety and with peace of mind.<\/p>\n\n\n
