On January 10, 2026, the support project for earthquake-affected communities in Cebu, Philippines, was successfully completed in cooperation with local partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through this project, we delivered water tanks and buckets to 1,013 households and provided shelter repair kits, including corrugated metal sheets, plywood, nails, and wire, to 136 households. We also distributed 60 sets of carpentry tools for shared use within the communities that received the repair kits.<\/p>\n\n\n

As recovery efforts for severely damaged homes progressed, residents began repairing partially damaged homes using the provided repair kits. While the timing of repairs has varied depending on each household\u2019s financial situation and the need to purchase additional materials, the support has contributed to improving living conditions that had deteriorated after the earthquake and subsequent severe weather.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During this period, we provided safe water to 5,785 households in earthquake-affected communities through the repair of water facilities, the installation of water purification systems, and a mobile water delivery service to areas where the water supply had not yet been restored.<\/p>\n\n\n

These activities were made possible primarily through a grant from Japan Platform (JPF)<\/a> and were carried out in close collaboration with our local partners, Balay Mindanaw Foundation, Inc.<\/a> (BMFI) and Safe Water for Every Child Philippines Inc.<\/a> (SWFEC-Ph).
