The northern region of Cebu Island in the Philippines was severely affected by a 6.9 magnitude earthquake on September 30. In response, the Peace Boat Disaster Relief (PBV) has dispatched staff to initiate water supply support in the impacted areas in collaboration with SWFEC-Ph<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amidst ongoing building collapses and disrupted lifelines due to the intense tremors, securing safe drinking water has emerged as a critical challenge. Clean and sanitary water is a vital lifeline for those living in evacuation shelters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PBV has a history of partnering with local organizations for disaster relief efforts in the Philippines, particularly in the aftermath of typhoons. These established connections and prior experience enable us to assess the situation effectively and plan for mid- to long-term support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
