Peace Boat will hold an event on June 12 (Sunday) to report on its activities in Ishinomaki in the three months following the devastating earthquake and tsunami of March 11.<\/p>\n
Yamamoto “Jr” Takashi, Peace Boat executive committee member who was one of the first on the scene in Ishinomaki to set the foundations for the relief and recovery efforts, will come to Tokyo from Ishinomaki to report about the situation. Other panellists will include musician SUGIZO who participated as a volunteer in Ishinomaki, Libyan student Adel Suliman who has acted as coordinator of many volunteers in the field, and other international volunteers and coorporate representatives. The second half of the event will be an information session for people considering volunteering in the affected areas in June or July.<\/p>\n
