In early October 2016, Hurricane Matthew tore through the Caribbean, leaving a trail of destruction across many countries in the region.<\/p>\n

The island nation of Haiti was especially devastated. According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA), over 2 million people have been affected, over 500 fatalities have been confirmed, and 750,000 people are in need of urgent humanitarian assistance.<\/p>\n

The toll is expected to rise as more information from affected areas becomes available.<\/p>\n

PBV is proud to partner with nonprofit organisation World Cares Center<\/a> to help the Haitian community recover from Hurricane Matthew.<\/p>\n

Since the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, World Cares Center has been serving the Haitian community through empowerment initiatives.<\/p>\n

PBV and World Cares Center partnered post-Hurricane Sandy in New York to assist affected communities through the delivery of supplies, the provision of training, and the coordination and management of volunteers.<\/p>\n

Although the extent of the damage in Haiti is still not fully clear, information from the UN and other credible sources indicates that the situation in Haiti is very severe.<\/p>\n

As the situation unfolds, PBV will continue gathering information to determine the most impactful way to deliver assistance where it is most needed.<\/p>\n
