Approximately 450 people, including family members and other guests of the Fukushima TV Junior Orchestra, people connected to the Venezuelan Embassy, and evacuees from Fukushima who live in the Tokyo area, participated to see the children perform.<\/p>\n<p>The concert begins: the Fukushima and Venezuelan youth begin the performance that is the culmination of all their practices on the boat.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3453\" title=\"01-s1\" src=\"http:\/\/pbv.or.jp\/wp_en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/01-s15.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"620\" height=\"413\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pbv.or.jp\/wp_en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/01-s15.jpg 620w, https:\/\/pbv.or.jp\/wp_en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/01-s15-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A moment of nervousness: they breathe, looking at each other, pick up their bows and begin. The performance starts without a hitch.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3454\" title=\"03-s1\" src=\"http:\/\/pbv.or.jp\/wp_en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/03-s15.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"620\" height=\"413\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pbv.or.jp\/wp_en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/03-s15.jpg 620w, https:\/\/pbv.or.jp\/wp_en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/03-s15-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>With each group only speaking either Spanish or Japanese, both the organizers and the youth themselves wondered at first how they were going to communicate.\u00a0But such concerns and worries were swept away by the power of music.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3455\" title=\"05-s1\" src=\"http:\/\/pbv.or.jp\/wp_en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/05-s13.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"620\" height=\"413\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pbv.or.jp\/wp_en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/05-s13.jpg 620w, https:\/\/pbv.or.jp\/wp_en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/05-s13-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We still cannot forget that moment during the first practice, when even though they could not communicate through words, their instruments played music beautifully together.\u00a0Since then they have practiced many many times. \u00a0There were times when there was mis-communication due to differences in opinion and culture. When disagreements arose, they compromised and worked together until they created something they all agreed on. The parents of the youth from Fukushima look on with joy. This is the final part of their performance. Fantastic! They surely made this performance the best one ever. Didn\u2019t we?&#8221; showing such genuine enthusiasm.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3460\" title=\"21-s1\" src=\"http:\/\/pbv.or.jp\/wp_en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/21-s1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"620\" height=\"413\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pbv.or.jp\/wp_en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/21-s1.jpg 620w, https:\/\/pbv.or.jp\/wp_en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/21-s1-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The concert featured three parts &#8211; the children, then renowned Japanese singer Kato Tokiko performing with the NTT East Japan Tokyo Brass Band. \u00a0Then, the performance continued with the song \u201cStory song of Fukushima,\u201d interpreted by Ms Kato and Dr Kamata Minoru.<\/p>\n<p>The voice and words of Kato Tokiko made our souls shiver.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3461\" title=\"23-s1\" src=\"http:\/\/pbv.or.jp\/wp_en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/23-s1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"620\" height=\"413\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pbv.or.jp\/wp_en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/23-s1.jpg 620w, https:\/\/pbv.or.jp\/wp_en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/23-s1-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Many in the audience were moved to tears by Dr Kamata&#8217;s story.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3462\" title=\"25-s1\" src=\"http:\/\/pbv.or.jp\/wp_en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/25-s1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"620\" height=\"413\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pbv.or.jp\/wp_en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/25-s1.jpg 620w, https:\/\/pbv.or.jp\/wp_en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/25-s1-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>What is happening in Fukushima right now? The situation is constantly changing, and the children are still living in these circumstances.<\/p>\n<p>This does not just concern \u201cother\u201d people, and it is not something that has been resolved yet at all. It must not be forgotten.<br \/>\nThis was a time for deep reflection.<br \/>\nLook at the great smile on the youth &#8211; it certainly gave them much courage.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3463\" title=\"28-s1\" src=\"http:\/\/pbv.or.jp\/wp_en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/28-s1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"620\" height=\"413\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pbv.or.jp\/wp_en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/28-s1.jpg 620w, https:\/\/pbv.or.jp\/wp_en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/28-s1-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Moreover&#8230; Ms Kato responded to the call for an encore, interpreting her famous song \u201cOne million roses\u201d. And, most of all to the Fukushima and Venezuela youth ambassadors!<br \/>\nToday was a truly memorable day in the life of the youth of Fukushima and Venezuela. We hope they will take their achievements and experiences back with them to their homes and spread them to the people around them.
