{"id":2623,"date":"2012-02-15T11:26:24","date_gmt":"2012-02-15T02:26:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pbv.or.jp\/en\/?p=2623"},"modified":"2020-07-16T17:44:16","modified_gmt":"2020-07-16T08:44:16","slug":"kato-tokiko","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pbv.or.jp\/en\/news\/kato-tokiko\/","title":{"rendered":"Kato Tokiko live concert in Ishinomaki"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On February 12, a live concert by renowned Japanese singer Kato Tokiko was held at kimono fabric shop \u201cKameshichi\u201d on Chuo-Aitopia street in Ishinomaki.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2624\" title=\"01-s1\" src=\"http:\/\/pbv.or.jp\/wp_en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/01-s12.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"620\" height=\"961\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pbv.or.jp\/wp_en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/01-s12.jpg 620w, https:\/\/pbv.or.jp\/wp_en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/01-s12-193x300.jpg 193w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Ms Kato arrived in Ishinomaki after performing in similarly disaster-affected Rikuzentakata city on February 10, Kesennuma on February 11th, and Kamigama-Kaikan near Kadowaki in Ishinomaki on the morning of the 12th. Ms Kato has regularly visited the three affected prefectures of Iwate, Miyagi, Fukushima since last year, giving concerts at evacuation centers. She has been vigorously supporting the affected areas, for example through donating sales of her concerts to setting up the temporary\u00a0 emergency broadcasting station in Rikuzentakata.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2625\" title=\"02-s1\" src=\"http:\/\/pbv.or.jp\/wp_en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/02-s12.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"620\" height=\"413\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pbv.or.jp\/wp_en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/02-s12.jpg 620w, https:\/\/pbv.or.jp\/wp_en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/02-s12-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It was her first time to visit this place. Since an hour before the concert was due to start, a large queue formed in front of Kameshichi &#8211; understandable considering the many enthusiastic requests for her to sing at various places. Since it was a cold day with wind blowing, volunteers hurried to hand out heat packs to those waiting.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2626\" title=\"03-s1\" src=\"http:\/\/pbv.or.jp\/wp_en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/03-s12.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"620\" height=\"413\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pbv.or.jp\/wp_en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/03-s12.jpg 620w, https:\/\/pbv.or.jp\/wp_en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/03-s12-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The eighty seats were all full, with another 50 people standing making a total of 130 people in the audience.<\/p>\n<p>Ms Kato appeared on stage, singing the song \u201cSeeds in the fields.\u201d She performed 9 songs in all, including her masterpieces \u201cJust living in good\u201d and \u201cA million roses\u201d, mixing in humorous talk and warm smiles.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2627\" title=\"04-s1\" src=\"http:\/\/pbv.or.jp\/wp_en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/04-s12.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"620\" height=\"620\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pbv.or.jp\/wp_en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/04-s12.jpg 620w, https:\/\/pbv.or.jp\/wp_en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/04-s12-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/pbv.or.jp\/wp_en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/04-s12-300x300.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The highlight of the concert was when Ms Kato performed \u201cWhere are you now?\u201d &#8211; which she composed six days after the earthquake. But that&#8217;s when you should try to have as much fun as you can,\u00a0 keep warm and overcome the harsh winter by making friends within temporary housing and uniting your powers .
